Girly Girl or Tomboy?

Hey Guys :)
Welcome to my blog!
So today I shall be talking about what kind of a girl I am ... *rolls eyes*.
So there are two stereotypical types of girl- Girly girl or Tomboy.
When I was in Primary school (for those of you who don't live in the UK primary school is for 4/5-11/12 year olds) I had no idea what kind of girl I was. I kept on bouncing between the two until one momentous occasion when my dad said to me and my sister, "why aren't either of you a tomboy?" From that moment on I decided that I wanted to be a tomboy. I fulfilled the stereotypes of a tomboy from the age of about 9-12. I wore baggy clothes and played a lot of sports. Looking back I really don't think it is my kind of personality, but then again I am a growing girl and especially when I'm that immature I probably had no idea what kind of person I am/was.
So when I went into High School I think I decided that I wanted to be a lot more girly than before and therefore I decided to call myself a Girly Girl... I was still very young so I still didn't wear any make-up but I did start following all of the girl trends e.g short, SHORT, skirts... If I could travel back in time I would definitely tell myself off for that.
I think last year or the year before I decided that I didn't need to be either of these stereotypical girls.. *cue the cheesy statement* ..I could be my own person! So I drastically decided to cut my hair off very short.. this drastic picture of me shows just that.

As my hair started to grow back I think my confidence in myself grew too and I 'found myself'...

this picture shows how silly I became and I think it shows just how much I bloomed as a person ever since I was about 12/13. I think this just goes to show that you don't need to be a clone of society around you.

Right now I would say I am an inbetween of a Girly girl and tomboy.. I occasionally like make-up but not clarted all over my face and I like playing sports and baggy tops like anyone who likes to be comfortable I suppose :) I think my personality has shown how much I love the outdoors and has taught me that all you need is family and friends :) So overall its okay to be yourself! You don't need to follow the crowd!

Lots of Love,
Erin xxx

  1. Woww..... Your words are 100% true... Even I had a similar situation where I did not know what kind of a person I was... Then, I realized that being in between has its own uniqueness and is a lot of fun. :) :) :)
